Dr. Alan Molk, the guest speaker, discusses Dying with Dignity*

Dr. Alan Molk is an ER Physician here in Phoenix, Arizona, where he has lived and practiced for over 30 years.  He recently co-authored and published a book through Amazon, called Saving Lives, Saving Dignity with his cousin Dr. Robert Shapiro It talks about dignifying end-of life, decision making, and balancing comfort with treatment, etc. Several people who have read the book have suggested he  give presentations to help individuals and their loved ones who struggle with life-limiting diseases and who are or might be in End-of-Life scenarios.

The book originated during his late mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s and combines his painful personal journey with his perspective as a physician with 40+ years of experience. Initially, he started writing as a catharsis for his own grief while seeing his beloved mother being reduced to a vegetative state by dementia. Now he sees it as an opportunity to help others, which is why they decided to publish the book, which recently received a positive review by IAHPC (International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care), a worldwide organization with 9,000 international members, mostly physicians. The book is available on Amazon or through the website-see below.
